Telehealth Services
In 2018, a national study found that nearly one in three Americans worry about what other people might think, and 21% of people had lied to hide their need for mental health assistance from friends or family.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) advocates for easily accessible mental health care services because many Americans are still unable to get the assistance they require, either because they must travel great distances to reach available providers or because they are afraid to be seen in stigmatized environments.
By eliminating the necessity for traveling and by reducing "no-shows," telehealth contributes to greater continuity of treatment. It might also provide a better experience for some populations, such as children and adolescents, that can be accessed via their computers, tablets, or smartphones rather than conventional therapy sessions.

Telehealth is an excellent tool for minimizing the stigma associated with mental illness.
